Charity

An important part of Veterinary Assist is the Veterinary Assist Charitable Trust. This arm of our business is designed to provide charitable services to disadvantaged owners as well as assisting with stray, abandoned animals and wildlife.

Components we offer include:

Pet to Vet - for those on low incomes we can take you to your vet from your home, wait and take you home again at a reduced rate. In certain exceptional circumstances these charges may be waived at our discretion.

Payment Plans - we offer monthly payment options where you can pay a set amount per month which is used/offset when you require our services. This is very useful to those clients that use us regularly. Please contact us if you would like more information about the plan.

Social Services - we work hand in hand with Social Services when owners are hospitalised or otherwise unable to stay at their homes, by taking their pets to kennels or in some circumstances transferring them to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

Road Traffic Incidents - we will attend any RTI involving an animal, wild or domestic, irrespective of whether the owner is present and will take any casualty to a veterinarian for treatment.

Abandoned Animals - we can assist with some abandoned animals and place them in a location of safety.

Wildlife - we will, where able, attend to any wildlife casualties, taking them either to a veterinarian or a wildlife hospital depending on their injuries/circumstances (e.g. orphaned babies).

Stray Dogs - these are the responsibility of the local councils and their contractors, but in certain situations we can attend and remove the dog to kennels, Battersea Dogs Home or a veterinary practice.
